I am so happy to be part of Reproduction Psychiatry and Counseling! This is a place for people to receive high-quality, evidence-based, personalized psychiatric care in an inviting environment. People can feel comfortable, be part of their treatment and understand their options.
I started my journey to become a physician around age 5. I knew this is what I wanted to do and specifically remember telling my physician at my well child check I wanted to be a doctor. My interest in mental health started in high school and continued in my undergraduate education at Baylor University where I majored in Psychology in an attempt to round out my medical education. This has been very beneficial for me to have a background in psychology because it provided me with a strong base for my mental health education. I continued my journey and had two wonderful children during residency. After finishing residency I returned home to Austin and worked exclusively in an inpatient setting prior to joining RPC where I founded an inpatient unit exclusively for women to receive care in a unique and therapeutic environment. Seeing patients in their most difficult moments has been an experience I value highly. I have been fortunate to help many people in their toughest times and I’ve enjoyed serving the community where I grew up.
My interest in perinatal mental health is rooted in my love of science, my passion for supporting all people and my strong belief every parent deserves to enjoy parenthood. I am active in providing free education on online platforms because this work is truly my calling.
I practice medicine with the understanding that your medical choices are your own. My role is to provide you with the relevant information available and help you have a true understanding of your options. I want you to move forward with your medical decisions with confidence and understanding.
I believe this is the best place in our community to receive mental health care and I am honored to be a part of your journey to wellness.
